Which one is the best ?

My DD is sitting 3 entrance tests in Jan/Feb (all timed tests). She is allowed to wear a watch on 2 of these sittings. Which one is the best to go for ? I just looked around and have no idea!

I'm really confused by your post. What has wearing a watch for an entrance exam have to do with how good a school is?

I know that children are not allowed to wear a watch on their wrist for public exams, but they can have the watch on their desk. I suppose that the school is using public exam regulations for their entrance exam. Last summer I did exam invigulating and found the whole thing rather laughable as the kids had loads of loombands on their wrists.

I should have made it clear, can see the confusion - I meant which watch would be best to wear to keep an eye on time.

(Not public exams, all privet entrance tests)

One that tells the time in a format she understands?

I was hoping more for suggestions, not sure to get a watch (digital / analogue) or desk clock, stop watch etc ...

Any experiances with this - I feel she needs one to keep an eye on the time however whilst looking around it puzzled me how many have an overcrowded display. Thank you for all your replies though

I suggest you avoid a watch which bleeps or one with a calculator.

How does she tell time (and the passage of it) usually?

Id imagine if she's allowed to 'wear a watch' then a desk clock would not be allowed?

They can bring in one or the other - digital watches will be inspected for calculators in advance i have been told.

At the moment i just say go, half way and stop (she has no clock but also no distractions) Her current teacher informed me there could be lots of noise during these test and she might find it harder to focus.

Why would there be lots of noise? Surely everyone does the tests in silence?

Get her any sort of watch and practise doing the tests using it so she learns the ability to allocate her time through the exam. It really doesn't matter what sort it is.
