My ds has just received his results for his first old paper ( 2012) this year.He got 24 out of 40.What level would that be?He is forecast a level 5 for the summer.Does this sound correct to you? Many thanks!

Its probably a 4B but you need the full range for an exact level - 2 papers plus one mental test. all information you need is here

Thank you Woodlands. That link states that 2014 ks2 maths probably won't have a calculator paper.Do you know whether that is still true? ( the 24 is for test A- the non-calculator paper).Do many pupils do badly in this paper? As many of the class marks were very low in this particular assessment ( I guess this paper was the first of the year ).

The 2014 paper didn't have a calculator paper, nor will the 2015. If he sat Paper A of 2012 he will need to sit paper B, which is a calculator paper, and the mental test to get a true level. Some children find the non calculator paper easier, some don't!
