Hi all

We're starting the application process for my DD for a school place. She is currently at Nursery 2 days a week. She is a very sensitive and emotionally aware little girl. She is struggling at nursery mixing with the other children which is strange as she always wants to help others.

So really needs to be in a calm, fairly small and friendly environment with good pastoral care.

We live 350m from Nascot Wood, but looking at last years stats its unlikely we will get in! So now we are considering Cassiobury but its got 90 in each year so a bit nervous about size.

So we feel forced to think about prep schools. The two we are thinking of are York House and High Elms (Montessori).

Does anyone have any experience of these? Would be good to get your views as its not an easy choice!

I know that Cassiobury has a good reputation. Have you had a look around it?

Of the private schools, I know a lot of children at York House. The impression I get is that it is high pressured, and the children are certainly competitive. None of my close friends who went private liked it.

Have you consided Charlotte House or the Masonic? How far are you willing to travel?
