School taking pupils to pantomime

Is it common for schools to take the children to see a pantomime? Our school do it ever year. It costs £10 per child and I have 2. I always grudge paying this. This year my DC are already going to 2 other pantomime which I have to pay for.
I grudge paying the money and feel the DC don't need any more treats! The have party at school.
What do other schools do?

I like them going to the panto with school they always have a great time, but I do sympathise with you OP about paying for everything they do at school. It does get expensive and at Christmas money can be tight.

I wish ours did. I'd happily pay for it. They do lots of other things but not Panto as a school. It's about the experience of being out as well as the performance itself. I'd definately support it if they wanted to do it.
