Good state primary schools in Strood/Rochester?

Hi All,

My family and I are moving to Strood at the end of the year and need to submit the primary application for DS by 15th January. We have arranged to go on primary school tours/meet headteachers for a few schools in the area (including; Cliffe Woods, English Martyrs, St William of Perth, All Faiths and Gordon Federation) But it would be good to get some feedback based on experience of other families in the area. Does anyone have first hand experience of these schools or could you recommend others in the area? Alternatively, has anyone opted for a private school instead (Gads, St Andrews or Kings Rochester)?

Strood is not a desirable area. Rochester better. If you can afford it go private.

Where are you living when you move as this will rule out some of those schools, I know about a few of those schools cliffe woods has a small catchment, english martrs good but catholic, all faiths and gordon had a bad rep a couple of years ago.

Hi Katcatkat,

Thanks for the response, we will be moving to Brompton Farm Road. I am actually going for the open day at English Martyrs today and going to meet the headmaster at Cliffe Woods next month, but the receptionist to mention that distance may prevent us being accepted

Look at wainscott and hilltop as well then. They both have good reputations. Temple mill ive heard good things about but its not popular.
