Has anyone else had this?
Finding it a bit confusing.
Or is it normal?

There are lots of different colour schemes around. So it may be your school are using one of those in common use but have books from a different scheme. What colours is it, perhaps someone will recognise it?

our school used reading recovery levels so they had more levels than ORT

Is it no book banding? Many schools use I because they use more than one scheme to ensure they have a wide selection of books with a range of characters and different plots. Some schemes (Oxford) don't follow the same colour/level as many other schemes. For example you may have a 'blue' book from one scheme labelled as 'yellow' in the colour scheme your school uses. I know we often have 3 levels in one colour band which meant children choosing a book could bring home an easier book than the previous day. This led to our school labelling books in one colour band as A or B to ensure children weren't bringing home a book 3 levels apart.

aaaaagh. Yes. This makes sense now. Thank you
They do use different schemes. So this makes perfect sense. Just wondered what their system was. Was so use to DD previous school who only used one scheme and was straightforward to follow.
Thanks for the responses ??
