My 4 year old child is due to start school in sept 2015; my oldest is 8 and in year 4 in a junior school; there is an infant school next the junior one but no siblings policy between them; we are not close enough to the infant as the catchment is tiny so are considering sending her to a different school? How do you manage school run? The other option is renting our house and rent closer to the school for a few years or if necessary all the primary school years. What would you do in similar circumstances? Thank you

So you have the issue just for 2 school years?
Then I would look carefully at afterschool provision and/or breakfast clubs at both schools. Your elder child may have friends that they could walk with? A lot depends on the timings and distances involved, but it isn't an uncommon situation in a lot of London, and even more so in the private sector with single sex schools.

Keeping track of term dates is essential, and you have twice as many sports days, carols concerts etc.
