Playground Behaviour

DS has just started yr1. I have been told by his teacher that his behaviour in the classroom is excellent and he is progressing very well with the new level of work. However the behaviour in the playground is causing concern (kicking, spitting etc). Having talked with DS it seems that he is copying older children. Apart from telling him this is wrong (which he already knows)are there any other ideas for tackling this situation?

It is for the school to enforce playground discipline, and for you to support them in doing so and encourage your son to take the right attitude in general - which you are doing. I don't think you should be doing anything else. If the school is trying to put the blame on you in any way rather than just inform you about your son's behaviour, don't take it. If they talk to you about the matter again, tell them that you suspect your son is copying older children.
