David Luke school cords falling apart. Anyone else had trouble with this brand?

Hi, our school uniform shop only stocks David Luke cord trousers, my son has had three pairs and with each pair on day one the same seam has come apart. Not ripped, just literally opened. My son is only 9, he's very tall and built like a tank (fat). Whilst he has been branded fat by the school and the shop (Oh yes my feathers are well and truly ruffled), they are claiming that he needs a different size because he's obviously bursting them open with his enormous girth. In fact I'm surprised they haven't put him on gout watch....

The truth is that the trousers are roomy on him and I've been really pleased with the size but the seam under the zip is just popping apart. My son is FAT! But he's also an A team prop forward, an A team cricketer a club cricketer and an all round good bloke with a size 7 foot at aged 9. The shop and school are claiming that no on elese has had any issues and so I wondered if anyone on here had.

I would be extremely grateful for any feedback ladies.

Not with their trousers (fortunately I buy them from elsewhere) but have had problems with their jumpers and fraying cuffs.
