My son (7) has started year 3 and has started sobbing about school and his new school teacher. She is very strict and my son isn't settling. He says he is being told off all the time and is crying and asking me if Ii can speak with her. It's very upsetting as he is quite desperate. My son is 7 and has poor concentration and struggles to focus in large groups. What advise would you give? thanks

Was he ok with last years teacher? Do you know if they had any kind of hand over where this was discussed?
I do imagine they perhaps get a bit tougher in y3 as it's the start of key stage 2 (I thinks) and the children have already been at school for three years

I don't think there is anything wrong with raising your concerns with the teacher. It could be that she is unaware of your sons problems.
