I bought some iron on ones from ebay..think it was around £2 for 50. So far seem to be lasting well but its only been a couple of weeks so a couple of washes.

loopylou0612 · 23/09/2006 00:12

i get all mine from www.mynametags.com

Sorry, can't do links!

Daisymoo · 23/09/2006 15:20

I've had iron-on ones and woven sew-ons. The iron-on ones fell off after a few months. The sew-on ones are more hassle to attach but look nicer imo and don't fall off.

I tend to stick with Iron on nametags, laziness more than anything!!

I have had woven ones from easy2name which were superb, stayed on for entire school year with washing, tumbling and ironing and came back off when I wanted it to in order to put DS2s nametag on.

I have also had some very funky little sticker/transfer type iron on nametapes (from a different company) and they were a nightmare, I melted them every time I ironed and couldnt get them off again when I wanted to. They looked great but I wouldnt buy them again.

Got the woven ones from here

www.easy2name.com (sorry cant get the link to work)

my easytoname iron ons have come off already after one wash.
I haven't been back to the company yet to see if I did something wrong but I am very unimpressed so far.
however their stick-on labels (for lunchbox and shoes etc) seem to be very good.

ordered mine from Asda, they were the cheapest iron on ones and they are still in the clothes from last year

SOULGIRL · 25/09/2006 23:12

nametapes.co.uk - do printed and woven and good value

cooperflykiller · 27/09/2006 18:43

minilabels.co.uk. Ive been using them for several years now, and they have stayed on so long that the actual print has worn off through washing! They are not as pretty as the CAsh's woven tapes but Ds2's school wants us to label SOCKS, so i am reaching for my trusty iron.

I would have to hire out a woven label company to sew in labels without making a pin cushion out of my hands, iron on job for me!

manchestermummy · 30/03/2015 15:16

www.wovenlabels.com I think they are called. You can have little pictures next to the name which I think is cute. Cheap and quickly delivered. The only thing I would say is they frey beyond usage if you take them off with a view to recycling them, so even though I bought 100 two years ago (I label a lot!) I will need more soon.

Bramerton2015 · 30/03/2015 17:55

At first I was seeing everything in. Now I get the pre stick on labels (no ironing etc required). Also have a black fabric marker and use that to write children's names on so if someone tries to cut out labels in uniform they can't get rid of the Permenant marker

beautifulgirls · 30/03/2015 18:33

Iron on woven ones from easy2name - have been brilliant for us - don't come off with lots of washes and tumble dried much of the time too. If they are not put on with a good heat and pressure then they do come away but that is our error rather than the tapes being an issue. We bought a small wooden chopping board to use under the name tapes on the ironing board so we get a good push down on them as our ironing board is a grid like surface under the cover. We have had several sets of these name tapes between the DC after I gave up completely with some from Cash's that wouldn't stay put whatever we did.

lottieandmias · 30/03/2015 18:35

You can't beat good old Cash's IME. I've also bought labels from stuck on you which are very nice (the iron on ones) but even they tend to come off after a while.
