Goldsworth Primary School or Saint Dunstan's Catholic in Woking ??

Hello,

We have decided to move, as our place is small with a toddler and a new baby on the way and we were thinking of moving closer to a good school.

We are catholic and would like to live in Woking and we are thinking of either moving close to Saint Dunstan's Catholic school in Woking or move close to Goldsworth Primary School in Woking, as it is a good school although not religious which is fine for us.

Our main concern is that the Goldsworth Primary School has turned into an academy and from what we hear the impact of this (if negative) will start to be seen in a couple of years time...

And with Saint Dunstan's and house prices, we were wondering how close will it be close enough? Anyone has any little ones attending the school at the moment and do they know how recent year admissions were affected by house distance?

Any input will be much appreciated.

Just bumping, in case anyone may have any feedback...

I don't know St Dunstans but I do have friends with kids at Goldsworth and they seem happy with it. In terms of distance, there is a document on surrey county council's website which will give you the distances, google Surrey school admissions. Might also be worth considering Marist in West Byfleet, recently downgraded by Ofsted but the parents I know there are happy with it, and there is also West Byfleet Infants/Juniors as a back up which is also popular.

I used to live in Woking (now live overseas) but my kids went to Barnsbury infant and Junior. I was very happy with it, and was a nice area to live. We left in 2006 though, so someone might be along with more recent experience.
