Attach a tag labels and similar

Am trying to choose between snappy tags and attach a tag ( the former are cheaper) but want to know if they leave holes or spoil the clothes. Any users with advice?

I bought an attach-a-tag gizmo last year and it was useless. Really fiddly to use and the backs never seemed to click onto the tags properly despite followiing the instructions to the letter. The text on the tags is also tiny. I gave up on it in the end, having only managed to successfully attach about four or five tags. It wasn't cheap either!
