In Greenwich: Millenium or Windrush (Charlton)?

After months dealing with late applications and being stressed in general, DS1 was offered a Reception place in Millenium.

I've heard good things of Windrush (Charlton) and asked to have him added in their waiting list. There is a chance he'll be offered a place there (the school may have a few offers of places still not confirmed, which MAY mean a place for DS1. Or maybe not)

So, the question is: should I insist on trying to get him a place in Windrush or should I just accept the place in Millenium? I have visited Millenium before applications, and have mixed opinions on that. Haven't visited Windrush, but heard good things about them and everyone I spoke to sounded organised and lovely. Both are a bit of a pain to get to by public transport, Windrush a bit worse.

Opinions, please? :)

Hello. I think I replied to one of your earlier posts and suggested you look at Windrush. I looked round it and loved it. The only thing that stopped me from applying was the journey. I know parents with kids at the school and they couldn't be happier. It's a really great school.

My ds is actually starting at Millennium in Sept. I've been really impressed by the staff and the children. As I'm sure you know, the school is in a bit of a transition period but there's a real 'buzz' there now.

It's a difficult choice. Do you know where you are on the waiting list for Windrush?
As I'm sure you know, Windrush has a uniform and Millennium doesn't - is this an issue for you? For some people it is.
Both are non faith.

When do you have to make a decision by?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but can't you accept the place at Millennium anyway, even if you have doubts and then see if you get offered a place at Windrush?

Hi DinosaurAdventure, thanks a lot for your thoughts (I remember you on other threads, you suggested Windrush to us).

I told the admissions lady that I will accept the Millenium place, anyway. It's a much better option than the one he had been offered before.

In the meantime, anyone else with any experience with the two schools? I only have bits of information and my gut feelings. And even my gut is a bit confused :)
