Hi All,
Does anyone know either Ashby Hill Top primary Academy or Willesley primary in Ashby.
We are relocating back to the UK from Australia and both have availability for my DCs. I have read Ofsted and Exam results but would love to hear about other aspects from locals. Thanks!

I can't help with Hill Top in afraid, it tends to do best in Ofsted but I don't know anyone with DCs there. Willesley is a good school, I live close to it so all the children in our road go there, I also have friends with DCs there and they are all happy.

My DS is at Ashby C of E as we used to live on the other side of town so no point changing schools. I'd recommend it, had no problems at all.

If you need any specific info I'll try to help!

Thanks! Ashby C of E has no vacancies for Sept. I know the area reasonably well as we used to live in Melbourne 10 years ago. Just generally - how good do you think Ashby is for kids sports activities? Footy/Ballet/Rugby etc? Also, what do parents think of Ivanho College? it has a bit of a dodgy Ofsted report.

Thanks, that's positive. Its so hard to find out information as its holiday time now - I can't even call the schools to ask some questions.
Still hoping to get some inside info on Hill Top Primary - anyone?!

Sorry for the late reply! There are quite a few sports clubs around, quite a few at DS's school play football for Marlborough Rovers, I think there are a few more local junior teams too. There is also a junior rugby club and a cricket club. Unfortunately DS isn't that interested and is happy enough in the school football club so I don't know much about them; I can't help much regarding the dance classes either but I have seen a few advertised.

With regard to Ivanhoe, most children automatically go there from the Ashby primary schools. A couple of friends have DCs going there this year, on first impressions they are happy with it but will see how they get on. TBH I've not heard any really bad things about it.

I've not actually been much help I'm afraid! Hopefully someone more knowledgable will come along!

Hi, just moved to Ashby 4 months ago and our boy's at Willesley, we think it's a brill school and he's loving it and how everyone - teachers and pupils - made him welcome! Hope everything goes well whatever you decide Smile
