one of my DT has got mostly emerging on his eyfs scores, we know he's been having problems and he's a June twin

should I be worried?

we plan to do reading and number practice over the summer holidays - is there anything else?

My August-born DS struggles with fine motor skills and handwriting so we are going to be doing things over the summer to strengthen his hands and practise his pincer grip -hama beads, threading, using tweezers, painting the fence with water, that sort of thing, as well as working on letter formation.

Oh, and cutting things out with scissors.

thanks, that's some really good ideas there. Grin

Hi my lo is one of the eldest and she got all emerging, I have taken her to the library to join the summer reading challenge which she is excited about- they get stickers, bracelet and a certificate!
I am going to let her have fun over the holidays and just incorporate some writing in to day to day stuff, help me write a shopping list, write postcards and thank you cards. Just fun stuff.
Also just gonna do the usual games- snap, pairs, puzzles ect

Absolutely do some learning but in a fun way without pressure. Get him to follow instructions, have conversations with you where he asks you questions and gives his opinion, read a bit of a book and ask what he like about it, get him to create some form of artwork whether it be a traditional drawing or painting or a sculpture made from feathers and stones and evaluate it, what he likes about it, something he could do differently next time. Visit an art gallery and look at a painting he likes, why does he like it, what does he see in the painting etc. take photos of a day out, get him to stick them into a scrap book and write/type a sentence for each photo, can he wrap a present for someone, lots of interaction with others.

Excuse the total lack of grammar!
