Overreacting ???

My dts's (6) played for a football team that was mainly made up of the respective class piers. They went down to one manager and he decided he only wanted 9 in the team so the last 4 in were asked to leave... fair enough. Dts's were very upset but I explained the reasons behind the decision and since they do other activities they soon accepted it. This was around 4 weeks ago.

Dts1 has come home today and said that the 3 team members in his class collectively came over to his table and started chanting "Ha ha ha, (insert name of football team) are going to soft play and you can't come because you don't play for the team anymore". I asked him how many times they said it and he said "lots, I told them to stop, but they just kept saying it".

I don't think this is on, seems quite nasty to me, but accept that I may be overreacting...

Nope that's pretty nasty I would probably raise it with the teacher.

I think I'd be upset too! It's terrible behaviour and the children involved ought to lose their team related privileges! I hate this kind of behaviour on children - my youngest has been victim to this sort of thing a lot and it makes my blood boil Angry

Thanks... He asked me to ask his teacher to tell them not to do it again and I was unsure whether it was right to do so.

Will have a quiet word with CT.

Yes I think you should, nip it in the bud now. If it continues I would be having a word with the guy who manages the team.

As it happens the guy who manages the team is the father of one of the boys in dts2's class and he is not one of the 3 boys involved.
