Hi,
Has anyone else notice the amendments to the entrance examinations at Altrincham girls grammar school for Jan 2015?
My daughter has been practicing with her tutor for 6 months and has no practice in the non verbal reasoning element of the exam. Is anyone else out there in the same same situation?

It is not a change - that the point. They are sticking to their previous exam format because their aim (of introducing an English paper - which was announced quite a while ago but only as an intention - they had to get approval) has been challenged.

This news has been around for quite a few weeks now. Unlike the boys school it seemed almost certain that AGGS would stick with the plans to do an English exam instead of NVR but they did inform people as soon as they decided to stick with NVR and they stated their reasons on the website.
At the end of the day everyone has found out at the same time (if they have been vigilant) so nobody has an advantage. I'm sure your daughter will pick up NVR quite quickly as it is easier to learn than English. Is the exam in September?
