Have they made the early learning goals easier this year?!

Last year only 52% achieved expected in all 17 goals. I'm sure I've read this year it's set to be about 80%.
Have they adjusted them?

Had ds's report and I believe it's wildly optimistic. There's no way he would have achieved the levels in some of the schools mentioned on here.

What's the point of levelling them like this when it varies so much from school to school? At another school ds would have been emerging / expected.

sleeps this is the descriptor for exceeding in reading -
Reading: Children can read phonically regular words of more than one syllable as well as many irregular but high frequency words. They use phonic, semantic and syntactic knowledge to understand unfamiliar vocabulary. They can describe the main events in the simple stories they have read.
On stage 4, your child would definitely be exceeding - the stories in those books are more than simple as well. An expected child would be reading books of one sentence on a page, or sometimes even less. So a level of exceeding doesn't sound generous - it just sound like he's a very good reader for his age so well done! :)

dd is stage 4 and expected along with at least one other of her peers.
