Workbooks to help 9yo with sentence structure

DS is in Year 4 and quite behind at school. He has been tested for dyslexia at school but has had the all clear. His teacher has suggested getting some workbooks on sentence structures to help him, so I wondered if anyone could recommend some? TIA

I'd be inclined to approach it by encouraging him to read more?

Surely the teacher should recommend one if that's what she thinks.

Sounds like very lazy advice from the teacher. She couldn't help him, but she thinks you going thru some books from WH Smiths will? Why?

Surely if it was that easy she would have been able to sort it in class.

In the teachers defence she did say that he will be put forward for extra spelling help next term & that if I wanted to help I could get some workbooks in Smiths! Apparently he has a great imagination but can't put his words onto paper and his spellings are pretty dire. She has previously admitted that he is a quiet & well behaved child so has slipped through the net.
