Pull up school trousers! Where can I get them?

My DS is due to start reception/ primary school this September. He only turns 4 in Aug so will be one of the youngest. He has a small frame, so I have started looking round for school trousers. I can't seem to find any without a clasp? Trying to find the pull up type for him. Next and M&S both have a clasp in all styles but previous posts said they did pull up (post was from 2012 however!). Sainsburys had cargo pockets on the side so wouldn't be any good. Not tried asda or tesco yet.

Anyone actually got any for this new school term who can advise?

Have a look for Trutex trousers (google online), they are pull up with elastic aged waist and a pretend fly.

Or even an elasticated waist Blush

Ds had some from Asda

starlight1234 · 06/07/2014 20:03

I got DS from Asda when he started.. he now has Sainsbury cargo ones. They do fit really well for slim fit. there are usuaully different styles in each range and smaller ones are pull up

I've been on a hunt for exactly the same thing, for exactly the same reason!

Bought some in BHS today, very pleased, 2 pairs for £7.

Had also found some in Very for similar price, but they were baggier and swamped him. I think Asda may do some too, so might be worth looking there.

I bought pull-up ones from M&S at half term just gone (about 4 weeks ago). They are pull-ups up to age 5-6 and the switch to hook, eye and zip, presumably for just the reasons you describe.

HTH

Thank you all. Might go bk and have another look at the Sainsburys ones again. They were all over the place when I went yesterday so couldn't have a proper look.
BikeRunSki, were the Asda ones pull up?
Gonna google Truetex now Smile

Maybe if I wait a month or so the shops will have their full selections in too?

Are you in Scotland? Lovely lady in Sainsbury's tonight told me their school stuff will be reduced price from August 5th, north of the border. They did have elastic aged waist without cargo pockets and Asda do too.

EightFiftySix · 06/07/2014 20:19

*elasticated!

Norfolknway · 06/07/2014 20:24

M&s - I saw them today. 20% off too :)

Janet001 · 06/07/2014 20:36

I'm in Manchester. I feel a bit more hopeful one that many of you have seen them in the likes on M&S. I did have a look last week, but only a small selection out with no pull ups, so gonna go bk in a few weeks :)

Matalan def had some with pull up waists and no clasp. They didn't have the right shade of grey for my DS otherwise I would have got them. They also went down to a 2-3 in size so more chance of getting some small enough.

airplanesandsun · 07/07/2014 11:55

My DD (from age 3) and all her mates had ones with clasps and elasticated waists (trousers/shorts/ culottes) and the just pull then up and down and leave the clasp closed. You may well be over thinking it. I have a variety of M&S and supermarket stuff (all 3 big brands) and never been an issue.

susiey · 07/07/2014 19:08

I thinkk I got some from sainsburys but to be Honest my son has a clasp and always just pulls them down!

Fram · 07/07/2014 19:12

M&S do them, definitely!

hobblebobble · 07/07/2014 19:52

Clasp and pull in this house x2

Icapturethecastle1 · 07/07/2014 20:01
