My two Y6 DC brought home their end of year reports yesterday with teachers assessed levels. SATs levels are due home by the end if next week. Are they likely to be very similar to teacher levels, or could they vary considerably? Which one is the more reliable guide as to how much progress my DC have made this year?

One reports on the work your child does day to day, over a period of time and many pieces of work across a whole subject.

One is a 45 minute snapshot of part of a subject.

Which one done you think is more reliable?

And which one does the government use to rank schools?

Two different answers, btw Wink Grin

The teacher's assessment was Level 5a in maths, but my son got a level 6. Now he is in secondary school and he got a level 7c.

In Engish, level 5b for reading and 4a for writing, but now he is working at level 5c in year 7.
