When do shops get the new school stock in?

Hi all just wondering when the new school ranges will be in the shops?

DD starts primary school this year and to be honest I've already bought in / ordered most of her stuff buts still have a few bits to get.

I need a couple of cardigans / tights / socks / PE kit and shoes. I have found most places to be low on the colour and sizes I need for these so waiting until the new stuff comes out. I don't think I will have much issues finding them nearer the time.

It's the shoes I'm most concerned about - I want to find non Mary Jane style (ones that will actually keep her feet dry!) I've seen a few pairs online but they appear to be last years style and sold out. I'm hoping this years will have something similar and I anticipate it taking a while to find a place that stocks them.

I know it's still early to be thinking about this but we are in Scotland so schools go back in August. DD will be away with her grandparents for 10 days mid July and then we will be away on holiday last week July / first week August so it won't leave a lot of time to find what we need.

M and S had loads in today but I'd leave shoes for a bit . Startrite usually do more closed in styles or continental brands like Richter

It was a pair of richter shoes that I found and really liked (the sold out ones) I just hope a similar style comes out this year. The only problem with startrite is the styles I would go for have buckles and I would really like Velcro as she's still young and struggles with buckles and laces. I will need to get the shoes on the week begining the 20th July as we are away the following week for a fortnight. If I wait until we are back it would leave only 3 days to get shoes before school starts.

I work in Edinburgh and most of the shops M&S/BHS/Clarks had school uniform in their windows this morning.

Maybe order online? I went into m&s they had lots of uniform out but I couldn't get polos in my ds size.

I you have to get shoes now I'd get the next size up as well and keep the receipt so you can take one back just before the 28 day return deadline is up. Otherwise you may end up with shoes that are too small and only three days to replace them.

Sorry for the double post - my phone was frozen and it's posted twice - 3 hours apart. Strange.
