If they had the comment 'now needs to look at inference deduction and meaning in a variety of social contents'?
Dd is doing well and enjoys reading, I don't really want to bother the teacher with a levels question but am curious, thanks.

all I know is inference seems to come into play at level 3. DD is very pleased with herself recently because she really does seem to 'get' it now but I am sure there are many different levels of it.

Level 3 I think as that was something said about DD too.

Not enough information to be more specific I'm afraid - depends on what else is there/not there. But as said above, inference and deduction come into play in level 3 and stay there beyond level 5!

Level 2 onwards ... would only expect basic inference at level 1

What year is the child and what was their previous reading level?

Whatlevel · 21/06/2014 18:48

She is Year 3, she left y2 a 3B.
