Has anyone got any advice on where the best places to live are around Uttoxeter, where the best villages are etc?

Stone. I adore it. Most everything you need is there but it still has a distinctly small town feel. Love it.

I agree with Stone (I live there)!!

Draycott in the Clay has a very small, outstanding rated primary school (and as you are posting on primary education I guess you might be interested in it), as well as a shop.

Stone is a town and Draycott more of a hamlet. Have a look at Abbots Bromley.

Thanks for the advice we have been told Abbots Bromley is nice but not heard great things about the school there, not been to Stone so will have a look as would like a village but with good shops etc nearby.

Ladyflip - I used to live in Stone. Now I am wondering whether you and have ever crossed paths. :)

Can't comment on the state school in AB because I haven't used it. I do know the area operates a 'middle school' system and children move on to Uttoxeter schools quite young. Abbots Bromley School (private) now take boys for the primary years, I think.
