Stand. All the others describe ways of moving.

INeedSomeHelp · 15/06/2014 14:46

I agree - stand

Cookiepants · 15/06/2014 14:47

^^ stand

parabella · 15/06/2014 14:48

Brilliant, thank you.
How about wood, paper, coal, plastic, peat?

Plastic

RustyBear · 15/06/2014 14:49

Plastic - it's the only man-made material

INeedSomeHelp · 15/06/2014 14:50

Hmm I would guess plastic - because the others are all made from natural materials whereas plastic is totally man made? I realise paper is made but that's the only thing I can think of.

Brilliant, thank you.

Paper can actually be made by wasps, so plastic is the only one that has to be human-made.

Unless there are some very clever wasps out there....

catkind · 15/06/2014 19:30

I thought plastic as it's the only one that wouldn't (easily) burn.

I agree with CorusKate. Ds (age 6yo) is quirky and will sometimes have a very good argument for a different one. Unless you can write a reason as well.

He said "race" for the first one because all the others you can do on your own. You need 2 people to race, and he pointed out it's the only one that can be a noun, the others are "doing words" only too. I think he's wrong on that in that you can have "a run" but it's the way he thinks.

And plastic for the second because the others all can burn (he added, plastic can burn, but it melts more than burns and gives of poisonous gases).
He then said it could be peat because that crumbles easily, and the others don't, or paper because it's the only one that's made out of one of the others...
