Waiting lists - anyone placed 15+ on the list but got a place?

First choice school is a 90 intake. We were initially placed 18 and are now at 16. Live about 800m from the school and the furthest distance in initial allocations was 550m.

Has anyone actually got a place after being this low on the waiting list?

Hi, today my son has been offered a place at our 3rd choice school and we were originally 18th on the waiting list. My 1st and 2nd choice schools we are currently 3rd on both lists and they haven't moved at all since allocations day. It can happen! I really wish you all the luck.

Sorry, I'm not sure why that message posted 3 times!

Thanks krusty, it's good to know we still have a chance! Are you happy with the 3rd choice you've been offered?

Yes very happy. We only put it down as a 3rd choice because we have to drive to it but its a lovely school and much much better than the one they allocated us. You just need to have nerves of steel and play the waiting game (easier said than done!) I'm sure you will get there in the end.
