Cranbrook, Kent - where to go for state primary school

Hi, we are looking to move to cranbrook, Kent. We're looking for somewhere with a village community feel, somewhere we'd be pleased for our 2 children to grow up (currently ages 8 and 6), and cranbrook is the only place we like so far. However, the cranbrook primary school has a damning ofsted and the next nearest school with vacancies, benenden, doesn't fare much better. My 8yo is already level 4a and predicted to be all level 6 for yr6 SATS had levels continued, and 6 yo on same track, so feels like we would be failing them to send them to either of these poor performing schools. There's also talk of bullying which is something they haven't experienced at their current school so really don't like idea of these schools. The good local schools, colliers green, sissinghurst and goudhurst have no vacancies. Should we just abandon idea of moving to cranbrook (fee paying school is not an option for us)? Grateful for any advice.

Actually, in case anyone picks up this thread, or finds it in future, just want to say that I visited Cranbrook primary and can honestly say I was so inspired and impressed. I will be extremely glad to send my children there, it looks great!

Hi,
Probably way too late to reply to this, as someone who lives in Benenden- I have a 3 and 5 year old. My son is in reception in Rolvenden and I have to say we have made the best decision ever. It is a very small school but growing as word is now getting out there as to how much the staff and teachers go the extra mile. In fact the teacher for year 2 and 3 has just been awarded teacher of the year for the Weald and they are getting children apply from other schools that are not happy by the day. Rolvenden itself is a lovely community minded village- my friend moved there about three or four years ago and her neighbours brought round a welcome pack!
I don't know first hand what Cranbrook Primary is like but urge you to have a look at Rolvenden as it is a little gem.
