My DS is in Year 4 and I'm planning on starting familiarising him with 11+ stuff in the summer hols. A friend has recommended Bond books, but I really know nothing about the choices available. The school he will be sitting it for do Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning.

I came on to lurk for information myself but have you looked at elevenplusforum.co.uk? There are guides for how to prepare at different ages. Past papers might not be the best place to start - apart from anything if you use them all up now then what will you use for the final phase of revision? As far as i know (which is not a lot) improving vocab by reading/playing games like apples to apples and making sure times tables and number bonds at this age lays solid foundations for more detailed stuff later. Also check that website for suggestions of prep material for your area as different areas have different kinds of tests. Good luck

It really depend on what 11+ you are sitting. Different areas use different kind of papers. Before you do anything, go to the elevenplusforum and find out what kind of tests your child will be sitting- it's not just the subject you have to look at.

I had a quick look at the forum, I think it said they use NFER papers? There are very few threads in the regional section about the school we're going for.
Thankfully, DS is naturally talented with times tables and number bonds, it's the verbal reasoning I'm more worried about as he shows lots of signs of Asbergers so may find that, and some of the English questions tricky.
