Seeking independent schools

We are an Australian family having lived in Madrid for 2 years and have 2 children (girl in Yr7, boy in Yr3) attending an independent British school. We are moving to London at the start of September (office in brentford) subject to being able to place our children in appropriate independent schools for Yrs 4 & 8. This is shaping up as being more difficult than expected. Can anyone provide some guidance re indep schools in west and SW London we should consider?

Try the Good Schools Guide to see if you can narrow down your choices and get in touch with your preferred schools directly.

If you want co-ed there is Ibstock near Richmond Park but a great many independent schools are single sex in this part of London. You may have more chance of getting your children into separate schools as it is unlikely there will be vacancies at one school in both the year groups you are looking for.

Does your current school also offer assistance in searching and applying? Many international schools help in the relocation process by getting in touch with schools on your behalf...do check if this is something your school can help with!

Good luck!

You might find it easier to live to the West of London (M4) corridor and have an easy commute into Brentford. Windsor is lovely and has loads of good schools. Take a look at Lambrook.
