4C in literacy and 3B+ in Maths at Feb parents eve.

ZanyMobster · 10/05/2014 20:04

DS same as Chocovore's DC

ZanyMobster · 10/05/2014 20:05

Haven't had level info since Feb either

DoopDoopDeDoo · 10/05/2014 20:09

Same as chocovore too. :)

ZanyMobster · 10/05/2014 20:11

From what I have been told this is not massively common in each Y3 class, most children in DSs class are low level 3s just.

littlemiss06 · 10/05/2014 20:27

As of parents evening in Feb my year 3 daughter was

1b reading
1a writing
2c maths

Panzee · 10/05/2014 20:34

Last year my threes ranged from 1a to 4c in writing. That was the widest spread.

MerryMarigold · 10/05/2014 20:38

Mine is 2a, 2a and 2b (reading). This thread is a bit depressing. I thought he was average.

mrz · 10/05/2014 20:45

In Y3 the expected range is 2B - 3B

MirandaWest · 10/05/2014 20:47

DD is 4c/4b ish in reading and writing and about 3a in maths. Is near the top of her class.

redskyatnight · 10/05/2014 21:02

DD is 3a in writing and maths, 4c in reading.

She is one of the top in her year though - the top few tend to have 4c in everything by the end of year 3.

DS was a mix of 3c and 3b IIRC (and he was probably top half).

Swoosg · 10/05/2014 21:29

Mine was 3a and 3b... Same as at end of Y2.

choosingchoices · 10/05/2014 21:31

Ds1 was 4a maths, 3a literacy. Ds2 is 4c literacy 3b maths. Both are/ were at top end of class though

Galena · 10/05/2014 21:35

There are some very high achieving Y3s here.

When I was teaching, at this stage of the year children would range from 1c to 4a - although, discounting the 3 highest and lowest (or thereabouts) most would range from 2b to 3b approximately.

montymum · 10/05/2014 22:19

My current class spans 1c to 5c in maths and 1A to 4A in English. This is a wider spread than normal though. I would say the majority of the class are a 2A/3C but previously at this stage the average is 3C/ 3B. I guess what I am saying is every child and every cohort is different and as long as I can see every child progressing I am happy.

calzone · 10/05/2014 22:22

4a maths
4a literacy
4a reading

Children in my y3 class range from p8 to 3b.

lostintoys · 11/05/2014 18:29

DS is 4c maths, 4c reading, 3a writing

HeisenbergsHat · 11/05/2014 18:59

DD's levels from February are 3b for reading and 3c for maths and literacy (maths was a 2c in September - she's worked really hard on it). She's in the top set in a mixed Y3/4 class, in a not-terribly-high-achieving school.

hels71 · 11/05/2014 19:04

I teach year 3. The lowest level for anything is 2C and the highest is 3A, with everything in between.....There may be a few 4C in reading and writing by July....

Wait4nothing · 11/05/2014 19:13

I'm a y 3 teacher - we stream (2 classes) my top set range is 2a-3a, while the bottom set is p7-2b. Tend to be higher in maths and reading than writing. Only 1 child has the capacity to be a level 4 in some areas by summer so not usual.

17leftfeet · 11/05/2014 19:17

How do people know what level their dc are?

At my dcs primary we only get told levels at the end of yr 2&6

We get told if they are progressing as expected or not but not a constant stream of sub levels

MirandaWest · 11/05/2014 19:21

We got told at the parents evenings in February. The children get told their levels definitely for writing; not sure about for other subjects.

Lagoonablue · 11/05/2014 19:22

2a in all. Average I think?

overmydeadbody · 11/05/2014 19:25

Who cares, as long as your child is happy, puts in effort and enjoys learning.

Levels are being scrapped as of September anyway.

enderwoman · 11/05/2014 19:33

Depends on the school.
Ds is 3b maths, 2a writing and 3c reading. He's on the bottom table for literacy but at his sister's school he'd be on middle table. For maths he's on middle table.
2a/3c is considered expected level for end of y3.
