Wondered if anyone has any experience of this school please.
Am considering it for 2015. I know it has an attached nursery but my DC would not have been to it.
Wondered if anyone has any thoughts on the fact it is 1 Form entry, the academics, extra curricular, the Head....or just anything else really.

Thanks!

My info is only secondhand.. However the people in question are happy with the school and child has settled well (current Y R)

From wjat I have heard it used to be wonderful but has gone down hill. I've heard it has a large proportion of traveller children and that has bought some 'challenges' to the school.

Oh!
Being on the Village Green, it looks so idyllic. Was hoping someone would say it was a typical Surrey village school....or what I have in mind as that anyway.
Are the parents interested in education? Do they have lots of clubs and activities and get the children to a high standard?
Thanks for the info so far. Any more very welcome.

Let's hope the school and local parents are welcoming to the traveller community and there isn't a load of prejudice going on.
A school should be an inclusive community.
I don't know this school by the way.

Ok, just looked at latest ofsted and data dashboard and all looks well to me.
Go visit the school op, chat to the Head and get a tour if you can.

I know someone who moved their DC away from Godstone but it was 5 or 6 years ago and things do change in schools. Her DC had been falling behind at reading, and there was no real support offered. Moved schools and DC quickly caught up (admittedly my friend did move him into a private school - not her preferred option financially as it was a struggle, but she was so unimpressed by Godstone). Best bet it to look round it though and see if you like the feel of it - in primary the children are with the same class teacher all year, so it can be a bit 'luck of the draw' in any school - you could get the best or.....having confidence in the head and the leadership of the school, and the general ethos, and seeing whether the kids look happy are the key things. Good luck

Have heard positive things about it, I doubt there are any higher numbers of travellers than elsewhere local. It has only become a junior school in past few years, before that it only went up to 7.
