Anyone else got a letter today about starting Reception in 2007?!

Just received letter from LEA about DS2 starting Reception in Sept 2007 - he's my baby! He's not even 3 until tomorrow

bless!! my eldest had his bihday last week - it makes such a difference at that age! NOT had school starters letter.....poor lambs they need to be with their mammies!!

was expecting it on 1st September so a bit of a shock when it came this morning. He has no idea what it's all about - he doesn't start nursery til the middle of September!

No letter here yet. Ds2 is due to start school in Sept 2007 too. I can't believe how quickly the last 3.5yrs have gone.

my twins start then as well (born Jan 2003) - we haven't had a letter yet.

Sounds like your area are being very efficient.

last year the letters came on 1st September (DS1 starts next week) so I was expecting it to be the same. They are being efficient but the way you have to apply is a bit of a rigamarole

Was advised a few months ago to contact a school I liked in October. THats pretty much it.

we have a form for the county council that should be filled in by the end of the year. Last year was the first year - that seemed to follow the timetable. This year they were already running late and the deadline was March I think, so it will be interesting to see how they cope in this coming year !

I got a letter yesterday for DD1.
She hates pre-school so i hope by the time september 2007 comes round she will be happy to go to school.

they seem such tots to be thinking about school dont they.
Ds starts pre school nursery at the school I hope he goes to. I have got his uniform and he looks so cute!

Tortoise...is it the being left thing? or does she hate the whole experience? My dd hates the initial handover (has been going a whole year and still has a problem with it).She enjoys it once she's got over the first 10 mins or so though. I think she will be the same when she starts school too.

Got my one today too. DS will be 4 in December. Cannot believe that we are thinking of school. Don't they know that he's my baby.

Am so relieved that he will be almost 5 before starting school. Couldn't bear the thought of parting with him just after 4.

Yep - dd was 3 in July and we just got the leaflet at pre-school about deadline in Feb for applications for September 07/January 08 intake. Forms sent out 1st November. Eeek, that's so soon.
