Hi,
Does anyone have any real experience of Davenies school please? I've heard great things but only from people whose children haven't actually attended which can then be heresay and not always accurate. Would specifically like to know about the facilities and types of schools they feed into. We are booked into the open day in June to get a better feel for it too. Many Thanks.

It's good! Know several boys there , although DS chose somewhere else. Good sporting facilities and food. goos SN dept. Some boys take 11 + and go to local grammar schools! some stay to 13 and enter local schools, both private and state. Not a Hot House so if that is what you want go elsewhere.

Thanks mushypeasandchipstogo! We are not looking for a hot-house so it's sounding more and more perfect. Looking forward to the open day and finding out more!

Happy to report that our son started Davenies this September. So far we are impressed beyond words at the school. They offer so much and he has changed already into a confident and polite little boy with a keenness to learn that has frankly surprised the heck out of his parents! His brother will be enrolled as soon as he is old enough.

My DS started a couple of years ago and we have been really impressed so far. We were worried as he was leaving a lot of his buddies behind at last school but he settled really well. The pastoral set up has really excelled, in general the teachers really know and 'get' the boys. Agree that it is not a hothouse, but sends to a good range from what I see. Personally we are not focused on 11+ as some others seem to be. Would rather DS was happy, which may not be the case in grammar environment.
