Dd should start summer 2015, I thought I had sent the form but I haven't :(

There are tons of spaces in local schools (rural Wales) but will they accept an application this late?

She is already attending pre school at the primary school but I don't ideally want her to miss a term is she doesn't have to.

Has pregnancy brain messed this up totally?

I'm in Wales, and in our county children start the term before they're 4, ie for a June 2015 birthday you would expect to start after Easter 2015. Applications are due January for entry any time in the next school year.

I spoke to the school and they said she was on their starter list so to just send the forms in now.

I'm relived but a little puzzled as to why we are supposed to apply so very early in a county with more than enough school places for everyone to go to their first choice !

That's good they have her on the list and she'll get her space :)

It does seem odd that they start up to a year earlier in actual reception in some a Welsh areas. I guess the reception will be play based so much different to preschool but still seems unusual...

Not much different to preschool I mean although is it full time?
