I didn't realise that I was meant to attach a copy of the birth certificate and proof of address to my child's primary school application. It's only logging back into the LA website today that I've noticed it in the small print and felt my heart sink. Does this mean we won't get allocated a place?

I would ring them up, although I think they would query rather than not offering a place.

the fact that they allowed you to still submit your application and haven't contacted you to ask for it I don't think it should be a problem

I know someone who live in a different area to me and wasn't allowed to submit the application without supporting docs

In my area it mentions supporting docs but we don't need to attach anything. They request it once the school offer has been made. This wasn't clear though and it wasn't until I contacted the LA that I found this out

hopefully it shouldn't be a problem for you

thank you. Hopefully it will be the same as your area nikki - does seem odd that there wasn't big red type or a pop up once the application was submitted if they do want it before the offer. It is buried in small print that you only see after the submission is made. Fingers crossed!
