Thanks

Roughly 1A but depends on child meeting all level criteria too

All orange book bands regardless of publisher are the same level.

Moonfacesmother · 08/04/2014 16:24

Oh I did not know that.
Thank you!

Book bands were created so that teachers could match different published schemes as all publishers had their own system. Many display both on books.

Now I don't read with infants anymore I miss the storyworld books.
I always liked Dipper and the dragons Nesta and Ned. Can't remember what level they were though.

Orange Storyworlds are actually Blue level (bizarre I know!) think that is a 1c or possibly 1c/1b.
Hope link works.

It's not an exact science, that's the problem! Your link claims that orange heinemann are indeed orange book band, infin.

Heinemann books in my DC school are banded themselves. For example a pink level book (The Lion & the Mouse) where the adult reads the text to the child and the child reads the speech bubbles which say something like "I can" IIRC, in my DC school a child would be expected to read the whole book and it is banded at blue.

Like lots of schemes the colour on the cover can be misleading for example Songbirds red band have a blue cover

Can I ask on here rather than starting a new thread about the new way levels. Ds is on the red parallel books. Is this red band then? Just wondering as we will be going to the library in the morning, I want to get some books out for the holidays that he will be able to read.
