Has anyone used Happy's Circus for fundraising for a school? I am hoping to book them and wanted some feedback from folks who have used them.

DH has taken our younger two to see this, hosted by another local school (not their own school). As spectators, it was a really positive experience for them all; DH was really impressed.

We have used Happy's twice now though not for a few years. The kids & families loved it and it was something different. There is a bit of pressure to sell enough tickets to make a profit but if you have a supportive community that shouldn't be a problem. Also they didn't bring chairs so we had to bring out school benches & seats so make sure you have lots of volunteers to help set up and clear up, and label all the chairs so you know where to return them too!!Have you spoken to them? They sometimes want to camp overnight before moving on. We let them as this wasn't a big problem and they were no trouble. They also have a couple of stalls selling popcorn and ice cream so you will need to have other stalls to add to your fundraising e.g. BBQ, drinks, coconut shie, raffles, glow bracelets etc.
I'd say go for it. Kids loved it.

From the audience's point of view it is very good. The tickets were reasonable, and the show was good value for money.

We did not care for their stalls, though. Standard, overpriced carnival stuff, and not enough of it to create atmosphere. Had the school set up some summer fair type stalls, especially face painting, and food and drink, I think they could have done well.

Thanks for the responses. I have been in touch with them and the have been fab to deal with so far. Can I ask how much did you pay for tickets?

Only just joined Mumsnet. Re Happy's Circus, hope you booked them as I saw they at a Girlguiding function at Cudham a few months back. Fantastic. Think the leaders were just as enthralled with the show as the Rainbows, Brownies and Guides.
