Help with ds nerves

We had parents evening this week and school report. Report says ds is just below average for his age. He is really good at maths. All his infant teachers said this.
At parents eve the teacher said he was good but basically nerves got the better of him in the test they'd done. He's in mid to high group for maths.

How can I help his nerves ? He's only 8.

How is he below average? Have to say thats a horrid term. Sounds like he is great at maths.
Does he feel under a lot of pressure?. Is he a nervy child away from school

Agreed. Must admit it made me feel sad. He's very confident even at school but think he feels under pressure from teachers.

I did think about those Elizabeth but the school very rarely tells you when they're testing!! Think I mightneed to have a word before he gets more worked up.

So sad that he is feeling under pressure with tests aged 8. What a ridiculous system we have when children that young are stressed out by school. It's not even end of Key Stage SATsSad
