Are there usually any back to school offers on uniform for January?

DS doesn't start till January but I realise the big 'Back to School' push is now. Will I be able to get stuff in November/December or do I need to do some shopping now and hope he doesn't grow much?

You can buy school uniform all year at most places (after all, even if you buy it in Aug for Sept starter, you may need to replace it through the year).

Not sure about offers tho. But I would leave it because of the fitting issue.

Thanks Clary. He is a strange size at the best of times so guessing would be difficult. He is a shorty so the smallest school trousers I've seen are way too long at the moment anyway.

Yeah, I find you really do need to take the child along for school uniform. Trousers seem to be esp hard - too big at the waist for the length is the prob I have (long legged ds) but you may have the other prob!

M&S btw do school uniform from age 3 (for posh pre-schools I assume so might be worth a try.

I've always had trouble getting hold of stuff at odd times of the year. the last two years, dd has started a new school halfway through the autunm term and I had a nightmare buying uniforms and had to go to expensive specialist shops. What is left in the shops is normally all the odds and ends and it is hard to find the sizes you want.
I've bought well in advance this year, and it was so much easier!

Thanks Clary and NedKelly. Think I might buy a few bits in the next couple of weeks and hope for the best.
