Jolly readers - book band?

Hoping someone can shed some light on jolly readers green level books. What book band colour would these be?

The book we have has hundreds of words per page and I'm wondering if it's an error as it would take me a good while to read it let alone DS.

Thanks

This seems to say that green level are about blue/green level book band.

Could you take a photo of a typical page?

Mothergothel99 · 11/03/2014 17:35

No sadly I'm not hooked up for photos. He's on yellow level normally and this is nothing like a yellow level book, it's 50 words per page.

What is the book called? Is it just a case of school having the wrong sticker or does it say green level on the actual cover?

Galena · 11/03/2014 18:38

Book bands go yellow, blue, green, don't they? So if he's normally yellow and has been given a book at the higher end of green, that would explain the reason it seems a bit hard! I'd ask at school but it could have been pure accident. DD is on orange books but brought home one yesterday which I think is gold. I assume it was a mistake, so will query it tomorrow.

Mothergothel99 · 11/03/2014 19:20

Oh God I remember that book well!!

Can't link sorry Blush but google jolly phonics readers and book bands.

According to this the green books have 16 pages with 4 sentences per page.

They are the equivalent of ORT stage 4 and 5 so blue and green.

Can you find the book on amazon to link to?

DD hated the JP books nearly as much as Biff etc.

This does bring back bad memories, these books are bloody awful.

Although it's the non fiction ones that are the worst. I remember 2 dreadful ones about shells and mountains.

Mothergothel99 · 11/03/2014 21:30

4 very very long sentances per page Grin

I'll pop a note on it, must be sent in error.

Thanks for the help everyone.
