Which school year should this child be in??

Please someone clarify! If a child will turn 6 in June 2014, will she currently be in reception or y1? I reckon she'd be one of the youngest in y1, but keep getting horribly confused! Confused

My son is 6 in Aug 2014 and is yr 1 and is the youngest in the class. Hope that helps.

You're right. She'd be in Y1.
