Hi,

DH poss getting a job in Bradford so thinking of living in North or Northwest Leeds or surrounding area. Prefer town living though for all the amenities. Love good access to city centre, but locally it would be nice to have coffee shops, restaurant or couple of good pubs. Would ideally love to be able to walk kids to school as that's what we do now. No idea about areas or schooling. Oldest is 6 and youngest 3 so primary schools or any thoughts on nurseries/preschool also good. Thanks in advance :)

Apperley bridge. Good school and on the edge of the city in the north

Schools in Headingley are very good.

Thanks - Is Headingley very studenty still? Haven't heard of Apperley Bridge so will look into that. Was also wondering if Horsforth was close enough to the city to consider.

Horsforth is very nice and just a couple of miles over from Headingley, some lovely schools there too. Chapel Allerton is nice too, but the schools aren't so great lately. Headingley has seen a slide away from studentsville in recent years, certainly out of rental houses and more into blocks of purpose built flats nearer the centre but still has a large student presence.

Horsforth is lovely with good access to Ring Road for Bradford. Schools are good, nice little town centre with bars/ shops etc. A good few miles out of Leeds City Centre though, but it has a train station..
