Looking for primary school recommendations in Berkhamstead as we are moving to area next month - any thoughts or schools we should avoid?

There are none to avoid as they are all very good. What age is your child and what area do you plan on moving to?

My DD is 4yrs old in April so looking for her to start in reception class in Sept 2014. Moving to central Berkhamstead but open to schools on outskirts of town too as I can drive. Also if school has sen support or a Senco that would be of interest.

You have missed the cut- off for applying for places and would have to go on the waiting list and see what comes up, moving into the area means that you go to the top of the waiting list.

I would advise contacting the schools and see if they will show you around now then you can make an informed choice when you submit your late application.

Again suggestions on schools to start with, in your opinion?

Greenway generally oversubscribed lower down the school, Bridgewater School recently became a primary school from being a middle school and has more room. Victoria First is a CofE school, need letter from vicar etc, with your application, Swingate, St Mary's, Westfield on outer edges of the town either end, all schools have good reputations. My kids went/are going through Greenway, fairly happy with it.
