When is the Yr1 phonics test?

Do they do the Yr1 phonics test at the same time every year or can schools choose when to do it? DD said she had a phonics test and I wondered if it was the one they usually had at the end of the year?

It's being held in the week beginning 16 June.
The school may well do an interim assessment test, to indicate which sounds the children are secure with and which ones might need more attention.

It's always in June.

And it's more of a screening (to identify who might need ongoing support) than an examination.

Thanks. Sorry I meant screening - DD said test, so I just wondered whether this was it or if was just something the school were doing.

I'm supposed to do a full phonics assessment for my class every 6 weeks. If I did the full assessment with each child every time then I would only get a couple of weeks to teach in between assessments (so I test them on the bits they didn't get last time, or on enough to show progress from the previous assessment - if they're less confident I don't put them through the whole thing). It's very useful to identify what the children don't know and so I need to make sure I teach.
