New curriculum 2014

my kids school has inset days coming up during which they are discussing the new curriculum coming in september 2014, Does anyone know what this new curriculum is or what changes there are going to be, I can't find any info on it anywhere

I think we need to remember that schools teach whole classes of children and not just individuals. This means that they are trying to cater for a range of abilities and it is therefore much harder to replicate the progress seen with individualised programs. I am not disputing the effectiveness of other programs for maths but the personalised nature of them means that they will easily provide accelerated progress. Obviously, the quality of teaching varies from school to school but I must admit that if I was convinced that the quality of teaching was not what I would wish it to be for my child then I would have changed schools long before they reached year 6.
