Hi all, My DS is 3.5 year old. I took him for the rowan's assessment last week. There we couple of other parents as wel along with us. Some who were going into Reception and some going into Year 1.
They had arranged a play session for kids for 45min. Mean while the Head teacher was giving us a talk.
All the kids were asked to go into the play section room. unfortunately among 8 to 9 children , my DS was the only one who refused to go in alone. I did try to accompany him for the play section while my husband was listening to the talk of head teacher. But by the time my son was convinced and entered the room it was very late , he got only 15 min to be in. They did try to talk to him but he was soo worried that we would leave him in the school and go home. He did not utter a word for any questions from the teachers there.
I am really worried of what decision they take. To be frank my DS is bright child how is more interested in story books colouring writing and very less towards sports. Seeing all these we went to Rowans for him. But because of new environment he did not show up wel.
Do anybody have any idea on how they select ? what factors they take into account? Will the child refusing to go alone will be rejected ? I would be very happy to know from anybody who has experienced this..
