Minerva Education or other Private Equity funded schools

Hello,

Can I ask if any of you have children that attend one of the schools recently purchased by Minerva Education UK or any other private equity backed group? If so, what is your experience how much did it change the way the school was run?

DS starts primary school in 2015 and the school we had planned for him to attend has been bought by this company. For me this is quite a dramatic change as the school was owned by the joint headteachers when we enrolled DS for it. Despite assurances that it won't change anything, I don't see a private equity company being in this for the sheer enthusiasm of educating future generations.

My childs school has just been taken over by this group. I saying that the teaching staff and head are all staying the same. I think that things will only get better as the head will have more freedom to make improvements that will improve the school.

My child's school has been taken over by them too, and whilst it all looks the same from the outside, I know the head has very little say in the actual decision making and everything is driven by money. Everything.

look for another school, they are hiking fees aggressively and increasing class sizes. its a private equity group, profit first. cant be trusted.

My son goes to a Minerva school and they have done nothing but cut staff and raise school fees. I would not recommend any of their schools as they are running them like a business rather than a school.
