Any advice from some locals on the best primary schools in Edinburgh? We're just about to relocate

If you search the site you will find a lot of different threads discussing this.

But really, why make a decision like this on the basis of hearsay and gossip from people you don't know, who may have very different ideas about what makes a good school?

Work out the areas you like the look of and can afford a house in, and then find out about the local schools. Go and speak to the teachers and look at what they're doing.

And don't follow all the sheep who will tell you you must go for Sciennes or Gillespies, and end up living in a cramped flat surrounded by rowdy students, with your kids being taught in the corridor because there's no room in the classrooms.

Have a look at the Education Scotland websites for most recent inspections.
