Robsack Wood School in Hastings

Does anyone know what is happening with this school? It used to have a good reputation but the longstanding head has left and has not yet been replaced. I have heard that quite a few teachers also left before Christmas and there is low moral and dissatisfaction. That combined with a big capital build project and the fact that it is transitioning to an academy seems like too many unknowns to me. Ducks and chickens are lovely but good/happy teachers and organisational stability is better no?

Does anyone know why the head left, whether the teachers are really unhappy and what is going on?

I know someone who used to work there not too long ago. I believe the old head left as he was at retirement age, nothing more than that, but you're right about the moral and the number of staff leaving. Friend whinged about the place for a while before she quit, so don't think the change of head is the cause. More the massive workload and paperwork she was expected to do which made no difference to the kids education. She said she got good at jumping multiple hoops to land in the sh.t and she always felt like she was being watched in order that she could be criticised. She looked shattered whenever I saw her.

More teachers are leaving it seems - the school website is advertising for a Reception teacher if you look on there.

Ofsted report is from 2010, they must be coming back pretty soon?

Wondering why you ask? Are you thinking of sending your kids there? After hearing her stories, I wouldn't, especially if you have above average ability kids. I got the sense that SEN kids were well looked after, as she did loads of stuff for those kids! But they'd have to be good with change with all the staff leaving.
